If your online as much as I am then you should definetely play some chess online. It's an awesome social experience and some very competitive play. You can even email your games so then you can bring them to the meeting.

 

Only catch is that you have to have a YAHOO! account; it's worth it though.

EVERYONE should become a member at the US Chess Federation. http://www.uschess.org/ . This is required at this point.

 

The benefits of joining USCF:

 

- A year subscription to "Chess life" (Magazine)

- The ability to play in rated tournaments.

- The opportunity to be a nationally rated chess player.
